Holly here. It's been a while so I figured I'd log in and update some things...I figured I would start with the fact that I had an idea of something I wanted to write about, but because of sleep deprivation; I totally forgot what it was by the time I logged in. Hence the title.
For those familar with psychology, statistics, etc...we are in the midst of a controlled study with Jacob as the subject. There is no placebo, there is only a pending result which could change my current existence as I know it. Will he sleep in his bassinet longer than 40 minutes? Not lately. Will he sleep in his swing downstairs? Yep. does this child have gas that makes Jeff and I laugh outloud? Absolutely but that same humor instigating air flow is totally disturbing my dear baby. He howls when he sleeps which wakes him up. He is able to soothe himself in the swing, but lying on his back in a bed does not appear to be a viable option for him at this point; however I do not want to come to any harsh conclusions until we actually try it for a few nights. Normally, Jeff or I (mainly Jeff) will pick him up to cuddle and of course he can sleep for 2-3 hours. While it's a joy for the two parties involved, it is not a long term solution for anyone in the household to get solid sleep....So the weekend should create some black circles. I think I got a mixed bag of about 4 hours of sleep...Two of which I got while Jeff held Jacob before midnight.
On a side note, I got the all clear from my doctor to slowly start back in an exercise routine so if I can somehow muster up the energy to start walking or even get to the gym for a walk/jog I would like to see how DANCE TRANCE would treat me in the next few weeks. I would be starting slow, but it's better than nothing!
First order of business though; CHILDCARE! I am working on it. Holla if you know anyone good!

I am not sure if you remember Ryan as a baby or not but she had stomach trouble and was a terrible sleeper at night. She slept in a swing for the first few months of her life EVERY night. It was the only way we could get her (and us) any sleep. Just make sure his legs that are hanging down are covered. A couple of times we forgot and they were like ice cubes from blowing in the breeze while swinging for so long. (I know- great parents we were!) :)
