Weight = 10lbs. 6oz. Over 50 percentile for his age
Height = 21 1/2 in Little below 50 percentile for weight
Head = 15.6cm Around 10 percentile for size
So what it bowls down to is that he is a chunker that is average height with a small head!!! In case you don't understand those readings he is 2/3 like his father. For those of you know that know me, I don't need to say anymore. I will just say that he has his mommy's head.
After the measurements were taken we were able to put a diaper back on Jacob and wrap him up in a blanket until Dr. McAtee could see him. This is the appointment where Jacob should have had his second Hep-B vaccine but we have opted out of them so far because it makes no sense to give him this vaccine at this point in his young life. This is a prime example of the drug companies controlling the medical world. I will spare you the long details, but when Holly mentioned that we were looking to pursue an alternate immunization plan the doctor decided to become pushy and let us know that she thought that was a horrible idea and proceeded to tell us why we should not. And to make a long story short she had the nerve to tell us that if all of this over-diagnosing was done earlier in time many of our successful businessmen would have been labeled autistic. As she said it "you remember those people in your High School that got really good grades, but had no friends"... "those kids would have been labeled autistic". Now the best for last, she said, and I shit you not "Guys that developed things like Microsoft would have been labeled Autistic"... This lady just said that Bill Gates would have been labeled autistic. Wholly crap and we are suppose to take her word on what is good for our son. Okay off the high horse, but that was the discussion that we were having today that turned into a lecture by this doctor of medicine. Needless to say Holly scheduled for another doctor for the 2 month check-up. Between now and then we will have to decide what shots that Jacob actually needs, otherwise if we went by her schedule he would be getting 7 to 9 shots on the next visit. I can tell you that is not going to happen to Mommy's Boy!

Glad to hear Jacob is growing. I don't blame you for not letting them push you into getting all those shots. Stewart didn't get that many at once. If it was me I'd be looking for another doctor. Jacob is your son and you know what's best for him. You have the ultimate say so in his care not the doctor. I don't blame you for getting on your high horse. I would have too. Don't let them intimidate you or push you around. There are plenty of doctors other than her.
Sounds like Jacob is a good eater. Stewart is too. Some days I feel like that's all he does. Oh well, they're growing boys.

I wonder if that is just something they teach in medical school or something because I know that Jeremy is VERY, VERY, VERY pro-vaccination as well. Hopefully he has a little bit more tact when talking about it though. Each person is entitled to their own opinion. I am glad that you were not bullied into something you didn't believe in.
