Yay! I will admit that I've been worried and waiting for this blog to update! Stats!! We need stats Jeff! But get some rest 1st. Love you guys! He's handsome- Congrats!
This is my official Oma (grandma comment). Holly and Jeff allowed me to share the experience in the labor room. They knew that I would have gone completely beserk outside. I was smart enough to keep my mouth shut; I was just grateful to be there. I witnessed such courage, teamwork, and grace under pressure. (And the pressure part came from all angles.) With Holly's fever, things got tense and my nursing background kicked in because tachycardia (rapid heart rate) set in for both Jascob and Holly towards the end. Jeff remained cool and calm on the outside. Now I know he has some acting ability. When they finally took Holly and then Jeff to the surgical suite, I just got down on my knees right there and prayed. Then I waited with the rest of the family for a first glimpse of that precious boy. Jacob William is a beautiful baby, but I'm prejudiced. And from what I've seen after the delivery, they are already great parents. The journey of children has begun. It never ends no matter how old your children. It is the hardest job in the world, but the most gratifying. Holly's father raised 5 children. This is 12th grandchild, and he is a great grandfather. I can't wait to show him the pictures today. Will and Kara's beautiful children Peyton, Carter, and Meredith will be meeting their cousin soon. That will be a sight to behold. Life goes on. . . . OMA
