Today Jacob turned 8 months and decided that it was officially time to crawl. This past weekend he started to roll from front to back and sit up from the belly position every time we put him on the floor to play and it appeared that it would be a short period of time before he figured out how to crawl. We had no idea that it would be this quick. While we are happy and very excited it made me realize that baby proofing had to happen immediately. I was thinking that I would have a week or two before having to finalize all of this, but Jacob felt it was important to speed those plans up.
I have a pretty good game plan and I will mainly focus on getting the family room in lock down mode and then as he progresses to walking I will start working on the rest of the house. If any of you experienced parents have any great advice us rookies are always willing to listen.
Our worlds have now changed and we will no longer get to sit and just watch Jacob play peacefully in the middle of the room. But this could be good because I need to lose about 30lbs.
Jacob is crawling and excited to be mobile but he will not be truly happy until he can walk. He has wanted to walk since he was 3 months old so I am sure as fast as he has picked up crawling it will probably be no time until we have a walking and talking little boy --- where did mommies little baby go???
