Mommy's Pregnant and Daddy's Fat
Getting Closer
First and foremost, I may be writing the blog but Jeff wrote the captions. I'd never call him fat, but that sure is funny. He spends 1/2 his time responding to my "Oh my god I gained another lb. this week" with "you're not fat, you're pregnant. At least you have an excuse for weight gain." He's funny, and my biggest cheerleader. So my friend Jess is mad cuz we haven't updated this in so long, so here goes. These were taken last week during week 33....Only 7 weeks tops to go! (I hope) We had a busy week last week with baby preparations. It started on Wed. as I attended a breastfeeding course at St. Mary's which enlightened me on the very natural, yet potentially trying experience of breastfeeding Jacob. It was a great group of women and I hope I can use what I learned. On Friday, we of course had our third Friday of Fun at our Full Circle class which involved a horror film...ok, not really but it was 23 separate women, in different stages of pregnancy, using different "rituals and rhythms" to deal with the pain. I must say, they are making this whole childbirth thing a little intimidating :-) However we ended the night with a 30 minute tour of Labor and Delivery, the nursery (awwwwww 6 new babies were in there!) and the Mother and Infant center where you get to spend a whole 2 nights before they and your insurance company kick you out and send you home. And finally, there will be pictures and a separate blog to follow, but my dear friends Erin, Jamie, Rose and Victoria threw Jeff and I the most wonderful couples shower at our friend Giska's house. It was everything we could have dreamed of. From time spent with my mother, my sister in law and our friends, to the very creative poopy diaper game to the beer chugging from impossibly small nipples....we have memories we will never forget. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. oh! And since the last blog of our "solo lamp in the nursery design", the nursery furniture has arrived! You'll get the pics when it's closer to completion :-) We also picked out a rocker/recliner for our bedroom which I have always wanted, which will allow for late night feedings while watching late night television. Thank you Mike for helping Jeff move that in and for helping us get the nursery furniture rearranged into a likable design. I have another baby appointment tomorrow so I'll update more with additional pics and an appt. update! As for me physically, mobility is decreasing a bit but I'm doing okay. I had a few days of swelling last week, some heartburn, a nerve that Jacob likes to play with that is quite uncomfortable in the evenings, and my 25 bathroom trips all day and all night, but all in all I waddle and I'm great with it.
